Island Junk Solutions Wins 2019 BBB Torch Award

Victoria, BC — Island Junk Solutions is humbled and honoured be one of 12 local Vancouver Island companies to be awarded with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) 2019 Torch Award for Ethics. According to the Better Business Bureau (BBB*) serving Vancouver Island the Torch Awards for Ethics, recognizes exemplary businesses that strive to go above and beyond in their dealings with customers, employees, vendors and their community

The Torch Awards recognize businesses that have made an exemplary commitment to honest and ethical business practices and consumer service excellence.
Hundreds of Vancouver Island businesses are nominated for this prestigious award by their customers every year. Judges are asked to identify one winner from the group of nominees and approximately 3 to 5 finalists. In categories where only three to five individual businesses have been nominated, all business are considered nominees unless the judges strongly feel that one business should be excluded. Nominees are judged on their reliability, honesty, service, fairness, and respect using the following criteria:

  1. High ethical standards of behaviour towards customers, suppliers, employees, and communities in which they do business.
  2. Demonstrated ethical practices surrounding their buyer/seller relationship.
  3. Marketing, advertising, communications, and sales practices which reflect a true representation of what is being offered in the marketplace.
  4. Acknowledgment of ethical marketplace standards by industry peers and in communities where they do business.
  5. Ethics policies that are effectively communicated to employees.

The Vision of BBB is Ethical Commerce in a marketplace where buyers and sellers can trust each other. Each year, businesses are selected through a regional competition to receive the Better Business Bureau’s Torch Awards for Ethical Commerce.
